Als Elektride bezeichnet man chemische Verbindungen, in denen die negative Ladung nicht als Anion, sondern als freies Elektron vorliegt. Die erste derartige Verbindung, deren Struktur rΓΆntgenkristallographisch aufgeklΓ€rt wurde, ist das Caesium-Elektrid Cs+(18C6)2 Β· eβ (18C6 = 18-Krone-6).cite-ref-dye-1-0[1] Die Verbindungen sind nahe verwandt mit den Alkaliden.

Darstellung und Eigenschaften
Die Synthese erfolgt in der Regel durch AuflΓΆsen des entsprechenden Alkalimetalls in flΓΌssigem Ammoniak oder einem Alkylamin in der Gegenwart eines geeigneten Kryptanden oder Kronenethers.cite-ref-dye-1-1[1]cite-ref-dyescience1990-2-0[2]
Ein klassisches Experiment zur Erzeugung von Elektriden ist etwa das AuflΓΆsen von Natrium-Metall in flΓΌssigem Ammoniak. Dabei entsteht eine paramagnetische und elektrisch leitfΓ€hige dunkelblaue LΓΆsung, in der die Elektronen vom LΓΆsungsmittel solvatisiert sind.
Ein SchlΓΌsselaspekt bei der Darstellung von Elektriden im FestkΓΆrper ist β wie bei den Alkaliden β die Verwendung nicht reduzierbarer Kronenether oder Kryptanden zur Komplexierung der Alkalimetallkationen.cite-ref-dyescience2003-3-0[3] An der Verbindung Cs+(18C6)2 Β· eβ konnte nachgewiesen werden, dass die elektrische LeitfΓ€higkeit im FestkΓΆrper der Elektride gering ist, was die Lokalisierung der Elektronen bestΓ€tigt.cite-ref-dye-1-2[1]
Elektride sind sehr reaktiv, starke Reduktionsmittel und zersetzen sich in der Regel bei Temperaturen ΓΌber β40 Β°C. Im Jahre 2003 berichten jedoch Hosono et al. von der ersten chemisch und thermisch stabilen Elektrid-Verbindung [Ca24Al28O64]4+(4eβ), einem nanoporΓΆsen Oxid mit der Struktur von Mayenit.cite-ref-matsuishi-et-al-2003-4-0[4]

Viele verschiedene Elektride mit unterschiedlichen Alkalimetallkationen und unterschiedlichen Komplexbildnern wurden synthetisiert. Beispielsweise gelang die Darstellung von
